SEMI - Fab Productivity

Secondary Equipment, Services, and Technology Group

In October 2008, SEMI announced the acquisition of SEC/N®, the Surplus Equipment Consortium Network to more effectively support and proactively guide theglobal secondary market for semiconductor equipment and related services through resource consolidation and focused leadership.

To continue the SEC/N mission, SEMI has established a special interest group to advance the SEC/N agenda into the future, and to combine them with other initiatives that meet the needs of members of their customers. We encourage you and your company to join this special interest group and help guide us in this important endeavor.

Device makers will benefit from access to suppliers and information that will help their fabs become more profitable.  Suppliers will benefit by understanding their customers better and through access to new ideas, markets and people that will help grow their business.

Members of the special interest group have agreed to support a Code of Conduct, especially important in the secondary equipment market, to better assure legal, ethical and professional behavior. The special interest group has developed useful guidelines and definitions to help buyers and sellers in the secondary equipment market, and is pursuing industry standards in several areas to help reduce costs and risk, while enabling innovation and value-added services.  The special interest group also guides SEMI programs and events, bringing useful information to fab managers all over the world.
