SEAJ AND SEMI ANNOUNCE INDUSTRY STRATEGY AND TECHNOLOGY FORUM 2006
Inaugural Event to be Held October 10-11, 2006 in Pacifico Yokohama
TOKYO, Japan – February 6, 2006 – SEMI, a global industry association, and Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) will co-host a new event called SEAJ/SEMI Industry Strategy and Technology Forum (ISTF) 2006. The event will be held on October 10-11, 2006 in Pacifico Yokohama located in the Minato Mirai district (Nishi-ku, Yokohama).
SEMI has hosted the annual Industry Strategy Symposium Japan (ISS Japan), a conference focusing on business strategies in the semiconductor equipment and materials markets, since 1987, while SEAJ has held the annual SEAJ Forum since 1997 to provide a forum for those involved with the semiconductor and FPD industries to discuss relevant market trends, address problems in the semiconductor equipment industry, and develop solutions to problems through collaboration. SEMI and SEAJ have developed the ISTF concept to merge the two events, thereby providing a more comprehensive program for the semiconductor and FPD industries and members of the two associations.
The new event will provide a forum in which members of the semiconductor and FPD industries can obtain or exchange more comprehensive and up-to-date information from the global perspective. This forum will consist of keynote speeches and various sessions focusing on the business, technical, and market aspects of the industry. The two associations will leverage their respective networks to organize the industry’s largest forum in Japan where device , equipment, parts and materials suppliers, research and development consortiums, universities, and local governments can converge to participate in deep discussions focusing on further development of the semiconductor and FPD industries.
