Global Equipment Suppliers GroupThe Global Equipment Suppliers Group (GESG) addresses critical technology and business issues that affect the semiconductor industry. The mission of this regional special interest group is to maintain a forum for equipment suppliers to address issues facing the industry and to develop an organized global voice to influence technology roadmaps, device maker and foundry planning, supply chain collaboration, and related issues. Currently, the Japan Equipment Suppliers Group (JESG) is active. The JESG is led by 2 vice chairs, Takayuki Nishimura, SCREEN Semiconductor Solutions and Masatomi Kawaguchi, Murata Machinery. When appropriate, the chairs of JESG will coordinate with other special interest groups to address issues facing the industry that require global collaboration. The JESG initially focused with other regional groups on productivity improvements in 300 mm wafer fabs in support of the industry wide effort called “300 mm Prime” and the question of whether a new silicon wafer size could cost-effectively be implemented. Today the JESG addresses other pertinent coordination issues among equipment manufacturers to the global semiconductor industry. Voting membership to JESG is open to SEMI members who supply equipment to the industry. If you would like to learn more about the JESG or would like to join the group, please contact Junko Collins at jcollins@semi.org. | Interested in Becoming a GESG Member?Contact us for more information: Junko Collins at jcollins@semi.org, or Jonathan Davis at jdavis@semi.org
