Manage Power Dissipation during Test:
Multitest’s MT9510 provides extended temperature control with XTC

Rosenheim, Germany, Mai 2011: Multitest, a designer and manufacturer of final test handlers, contactors and load boards used by integrated device manufacturers (IDMs) and final test subcontractors worldwide, is pleased to announce that the MT9510 provides extended temperature control with its extended temperature calibration (XTX) on the MT9510.

Today, more and more ICs, e.g. graphic chips, require a medium range power dissipation control for the DUT (device under test). For most of these applications, heavy investments in established ATC (active thermal control) systems are not appropriate. Some semiconductor manufacturers try to solve this by developing their own, proprietary solutions. However, this drains their resources to an area that is not their main business to an area that is not their main business and does not really offer the advantages of a real “turnkey” solution.

Multitest’s thermal expertise has enabled the company to develop a unique solution based on extended temperature calibration (XTC) for medium range power dissipation of up to 50 Watts. The die temperature inside the DUT is stabilized at a set temperature and a temperature drift after contacting is avoided.

The XTC is integrated into the conversion kit. Besides cost efficiency, this also ensures the full availability for any MT9510 pick-and-place handler in the market.
