New Equipment Edge Computing Data Governance (EECDG) Task Force
By Cher Wu, SEMI Taiwan
Semiconductor manufacturing is increasingly taking advantage of edge computing, reducing the amount of data that needs to be processed. While the value of the equipment data extracted during edge computing is essential to Smart Manufacturing, fab owners and equipment suppliers need to discuss issues such as data definition, data retention, data authorization and authentication.
A guide for “equipment edge computing data governance” has become increasingly critical for handling equipment edge data.
Led by KY Wang (Eunodata), the Equipment Edge Computing Data Governance Task Force was formed at the Taiwan Information and Control TC Chapter Meeting held on April 16, 2021. The goal is to develop a guide for data governance which will cover:
- Data Inventory of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- Data Categorization & Meta Data Management of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- Data Ownership, Retention & Latency of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- Data Quality & Value of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- Data Access Security of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- Data Change Management of Equipment Edge Computing Data Sources
- System Health of Equipment Edge Computing System
