SEMI Advocacy and Public Policy in Europe

As the voice of the semiconductor equipment and materials industry, SEMI represents member interests when liaising with decision makers and other stakeholders who are shaping the business environment in Europe. The views and recommendations SEMI voices are shaped by members: 2.000 companies worldwide, with over 280 companies headquartered in Europe, and 80% of which are small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Our work is guided by our members’ needs. Our activities include:  
  • Monitor EU policy and update SEMI members on regulatory developments that may impact them 
  • Liaise with EU decision-makers: exchange views with representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, national and regional authorities in Brussels 
  • Raise awareness around the semiconductor industry and its strategic importance for Europe
We organise an annual event in Brussels, the SEMI Brussels Forumthat brings together industry executives and European decision-makers to exchange views on the latest developments in Europe and forge a consensus on Europe’s policy priorities.

SEMI represents the interests of member companies - our positions are drafted and approved by our members and represent an industry consensus among companies, parts of the manufacturing supply chain and across regions globally.
