  • EDAC becomes EDA Consortium.
  • MSS reports $2.7 billion in EDA and Semiconductor Intellectual Property (SIP) revenue.
  • James Solomon receives Phil Kaufman Award.

1996

  • Members vote to establish all-CEO board of directors.
  • Wally Rhines, president & CEO, Mentor Graphics, elected chairman.
  • Pamela Parrish becomes EDAC’s first full time employee as Executive Director .
  • MSS reports $2.3 billion in EDA revenue.
  • Carver Mead receives Phil Kaufman Award.

1995

  • EDAC forms EDA Industry Council with the CAD Frameworks Initiative (CFI).
  • www.edac.org web site launched.
  • MSS reports $1.6 billion in EDA revenue.
  • Donald Pederson receives Phil Kaufman Award.

1994

  • Alan Hanover, president & CEO, Viewlogic, elected Chairman.
  • MSS first published. EDAC/Needham Stock Index introduced.
  • Herman Gummel presented with first Phil Kaufman award.

1992

  • EDAC incorporates and becomes DAC co-sponsor.

1991

  • Joe Costello, president & CEO, Cadence Design Systems, succeeds Jim Hamock as chairman.

1990

  • Jim Hamock assumes the position of chairman.
  • Donna Fritz (Walden) becomes EDAC’s 1st Executive Director. Donna and her agency staff supported EDAC for the next seven years.

1989

  • Electronic Design Automation Consortium (EDAC) is formed. First officers are elected.
