Podcast Debut: SEMI Market Intelligence Team Discusses Semiconductor Equipment Outlook with 3D InCites

The SEMI Market Intelligence Team (MIT) recently recorded the first podcast in a new series with 3D InCites that will provide semiconductor manufacturing updates across the wafer fab; equipment; materials; and assembly, packaging and test markets to help semiconductor companies and other key industry stakeholders with their day-to-day business decisions.

The debut episode embedded below focuses on the semiconductor manufacturing equipment market with Sanjay Malhotra, Vice President of Corporate Marketing and MIT, and Inna Skvortsova, MIT Analyst, of SEMI. Malhotra provides an overview of SEMI MIT, its market research offerings and customers, and the value the reports deliver based on his long tenure at Applied Materials.

Skvortsova discusses equipment market trends, explaining how SEMI gathers market to ensure the reliability of the reports. She and Malhotra also consider the impact of the chip shortage on equipment manufacturers, supply chain constraints, and other potential headwinds to near-term industry growth.

The podcast provides context to SEMI’s June announcement that global semiconductor equipment billings grew 5% year-over-year to US$24.7 billion in the first quarter of 2022, according to its Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics (WWSEMS) Report. Following are quarterly billings data in billions of U.S. dollars with quarter-over-quarter and year-over-year changes by region from the report:
