SEMI Global CMO Terry Tsao Honored With Events Industry Council 2022 Global Award for Adaptation and Innovation

SEMI Global Chief Marketing Officer and SEMI Taiwan President Terry Tsao, a key force behind the 60% growth in attendance at SEMICON Taiwan over the past 10 years, has won the U.S.-based Events Industry Council’s (EIC) 2022 Global Award for Adaptation and Innovation. The annual award recognizes outstanding achievements in promoting innovation and development in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) industry. Recipients were honored at the Global Awards Celebration at IMEX America in Las Vegas, Nevada last month.

Logo“By running international exhibitions, Mr. Terry Tsao goes out of his way to bridging the industry, government and academia, while bringing in experts from various sectors to join the discussion,” said Chern-Chyi C.C, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, who recommended Tsao for the award. “He creates opportunities for business leaders, C-suite executives and policy makers to sit in the same room for dialogue and exchanges. It is a platform that not only pushes forward cooperation in business and trade, but also leads to prosperity of Taiwan's semiconductor industry.”

Logo“It is Terry who steers SEMICON Taiwan to a new direction, redefining the value, meaning and function of an exhibition,” said Simon Wang, President and CEO of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). “The SEMI team helps its members brace for looming challenges by working closely with them and listening to what they need. Together, they find where new markets and opportunities might be. SEMI provides a powerful and effective platform for exhibitors, on which exhibitors and visitors can communicate with each other in a highly efficient way.”

Logo“For the 15 years I have worked with Terry and SEMI on exhibitions, what I got from him is that he is an industry association leader with a great vision,” said Walter Yeh, former president of Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA). “He knows too well how MICE could spur the development of various industries. With his expertise in marketing, technology, international business and trade, as well as industry resources in combination, Terry is making innovation and upgrade of the MICE industry possible. He has been invited to talk at the Asian MICE Forum for many times, and every time he is setting a new bar and creating new value for the new-generation exhibitions.”

“For years, SEMI has been committed to improving the experience of visiting and exhibiting at SEMICON Taiwan, trying to present the show in a more sophisticated and diverse way, while deepening the exchanges between industry sectors,” Tsao said. The prestigious EIC award recognizes the continuous pursuit of innovation of members of Taiwan's MICE industry. Forging ahead, we will do our upmost to introduce forward-looking international trends to Taiwan and help the industry adapt and transform, to help improve its competitiveness on the world stage.”
