In a drive to bring together the semiconductor value chain to address climate challenges, SEMI welcomes members and other industry stakeholders to join the Semiconductor Climate Consortium (SCC), a new effort to heighten collaboration and transparency in order to reduce chip industry greenhouse gas emissions. Companies that commit to membership by October 21, 2022 will receive Founding Member designation, demonstrating their leadership in environment, social and governance (ESG).
The SCC will detail its proposed workstreams and goals at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 27), November 6-18, 2022, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
Conceived and fashioned by the SEMI Sustainability Advisory Council (SAC) and its Climate Working Group, the Consortium invites companies from across the value chain including chipmakers, equipment and materials suppliers, and providers of OSAT and Information Communication Technology (ICT) to participate. SEMI will manage the Consortium.
The Consortium offers two levels of membership. Leadership Level members will define key focus areas of industry value chain sustainability and deliverables for the Consortium. Participant Level members will engage in working groups that focus on activities including baselining, roadmapping, energy sourcing, improving communications between semiconductor equipment suppliers to support new manufacturing and reporting efficiencies, and engaging with sustainability start-ups.
See the Prospectus for more details on membership levels and how to sign up.
Join us as we leverage the scale, speed, and collaborative power of the semiconductor value chain to substantively address the climate challenge.
