SEMI spoke with Anja Maria Muesch and Dr. Philip Matthes at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany about the challenges and opportunities of generational diversity in the electronics industry workforce.

The Department of Commerce will spend $10B over a five-year period to establish “20 geographically distributed regional technology and innovation hubs.” These regional hubs will attract public and private investment capable of vitalizing or revitalizing the Silicon cities of the future.

SEMI welcomes members to join the Semiconductor Climate Consortium (SCC), a new effort to heighten collaboration and transparency in order to reduce chip industry greenhouse gas emissions.  Companies that commit to membership by October 21, 2022 will receive Founding Member designation.

Focusing on applications that help assist movement in people with neuromotor disorders & aging muscle, Georgia Tech is developing a flexible system that uses sensory feedback through EMG to assess muscle and motor neuron health and augments strength through pneumatically actuated artificial muscle.
