About the SEMI Award
Each year, SEMI publicly recognizes and honors technological and industrial leadership through the SEMI Award North America program.
The SEMI Award for North America established in 1979 is given to individuals and/or organizations that have produced an advancement of significant value to the progress of the semiconductor equipment technology and materials supplier community. The accomplishment must have benefited the semiconductor industry through successful commercialization for a mature technology or have the promise of doing so in the future based on a reduction to practice for an emerging technology. The semiconductor industry includes traditional integrated circuits, flat panel displays, optical integrated circuits and photovoltaics including solar cells and LEDs.
The highest honor achievable is the Lifetime Achievement Award. The Honor is reserved for those individuals who repeatedly enable and lead the industry, technologically, throughout their professional career.
