SEMICON Sprint to 2022: Back Onsite with 4 Events Over 7 Weeks

After a nearly two-year disruption caused by COVID-19, SEMICON Europa, SEMICON West, SEMICON Japan, and SEMICON Taiwan are set to welcome back exhibitors and visitors to show floors starting in mid-November as four of SEMI’s seven flagship events gather visionaries and industry leaders to explore the latest semiconductor trends and innovations by the end of 2021. SEMI will share highlights of the events in this SEMICON Sprint to 2022 blog series.

Ajit Manocha“We’re thrilled to get back in a big way to the in-person collaborations that are the fuel of innovation as semiconductor companies worldwide work to strengthen supply chain resiliency and address critical issues across transportation, healthcare, agriculture, and other key industries,” said Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI.

The safety and well-being of all exhibitors and visitors remains SEMI’s top priority as the world begins to emerge from grip of the pandemic. Each SEMICON will implement COVID-19 precautions and adapt the measures, if necessary, as the events near.

SEMICON Europa 2021 – Nov. 16-19

Themed Accelerating the Digital Transformation, SEMICON Europa will be co-located with productronica to stage the largest event for electronics manufacturing in Europe. SEMICON Europa will focus on how to transform Europe into a connected digital hub that leads the development of environmentally and socially sustainable applications.

Europoa image“We are excited to welcome back key semiconductor industry players in person in Munich,” said Laith Altimime, president of SEMI Europe. “SEMICON Europa gathers experts across the value chain for the collaboration and innovation critical to Europe’s semiconductor industry growth. Visitors will take a deep dive into how semiconductors are making manufacturing, automotive and healthcare smarter to drive higher efficiency and productivity across a wide range of applications.”

“JCET is a strategic partner of SEMICON and we are very excited to sponsor SEMICON Europa and the return to live events to share insights with our industry partners, and work together to build a smarter world,” said David Sellers, Head of European Sales at JCET, Gold sponsor of the event. (Platinum sponsors Samsung, TEL; Silver sponsors: Bosch, Evatec, excyte, KLA, SCREEN, and Cymru Wales).

Laith AltimimeAt the new Executive Forum, thought leaders from Bosch, Cariad, Edwards Vacuum, European Commission, Fraunhofer EMFT, imec, Intel, Infineon, KLA, CEA-Leti, Merck, NXP Semiconductors, Philips, Samsung, and TSMC will address European Ecosystems Connecting the Digital Future. The Fab Management Forum will feature Expanding European Manufacturing Footprint, while the Advanced Packaging Conference will focus on Material and Process Challenges in the Era of Digital Transformation.

The new TechARENA will showcase how the most advanced semiconductors are meeting future challenges in manufacturing, mobility, medical, computing, telecommunications, and workforce development. And the EU Digital Lounge will provide the latest updates on EU-funded semiconductor projects.

SEMICON West Hybrid 2021 – Dec. 7-9

Optimal readiness and stronger alliances across the semiconductor supply chain to confront future global disruptions will come into sharp focus at SEMICON West 2021.

West image“We look forward to reconnecting face-to-face and virtually to address pressing semiconductor industry issues such as the chip and talent shortages to help drive industry growth,” said Dave Anderson, president of SEMI Americas. “The importance of reuniting the industry again at SEMI’s in-person expos cannot be overstated. At face-to-face events, exhibitors can more profoundly display a variety of products and services, including equipment, and everyone – from decision makers to technical staff – can communicate more closely and clearly with each other.”

SEMICON West Hybrid 2021 keynotes and executive panels will highlight strategies for sourcing, innovating and accelerating the development of technology solutions across markets and value chain segments. Executives from KLA, Lam Research, TEL, AMD, Google, Merck, Blue Shield, Harvard, and Stanford will be among the speakers.

Dave AndersonSmart Pavilions on Smart Manufacturing, Smart MedTech, and Smart Mobility will feature sessions and demonstrations highlighting how cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, and machine learning are helping drive the Smart revolution.

At the Workforce Development Pavilion, on-site and remote attendees will search for jobs and mentors, while human resources representatives will exchange the best ways to attract, retain, and develop talent while cultivating diversity and inclusion. From nanometer to terahertz, the Test Vision Symposium will showcase test innovation opportunities. And the event is co-located with the Design Automation Conference, which will address areas including EDA, Design on Cloud, AI/machine learning and Embedded Systems to help drive advances in chip design.

Platinum sponsors for the in-person expo are KLA, Lam Research, and TEL and the Gold sponsor is Edwards Vacuum. Applied Materials is Platinum sponsor of the virtual event.

SEMICON Japan Hybrid 2021 – Dec. 15-17

Themed Forward As One to underscore the vital importance for the electronics manufacturing and design supply chain to unite in helping overcome key global challenges, SEMICON Japan Hybrid 2021 will highlight new business opportunities sparked by leading-edge technologies such as AI, 5G, IoT, MEMS, sensors, quantum computing, advanced 3D packaging, and advanced applications for Smart Mobility and mobile communications.

Japan imageJapan’s premier event for the microelectronics industry, SEMICON Japan Hybrid 2021 will host global pacesetters and visionaries for keynotes at the SuperTheater. Speakers will include Chris Chern, Director of TSMC’s Japan 3DIC R&D Center (Advanced Packaging Developments), and Peng Bel, Intel General Manager, Global Sourcing for Equipment and Materials (Creating World-Changing Technology – with Semiconductor Equipment and Materials).
