BIOGRAPHY

Gary Stinson, Microchip Technology

Gary Stinson currently serves as a senior manager in yield engineering at Fab4. He has a bachelor's degree in physics from Abilene Christian University. His career started with Litton Electron Devices as a GaAs photocathode engineer for night vision military applications.

Success in reducing defects led to Gary starting a position with Microchip in 1995 when design rules required automated wafer inspection. He built the program from scratch and after 8 years, joined the Gresham Fab4 startup team, playing an instrumental role in automotive qualification for the fab acquired from Fujitsu. Expansion of responsibilities included automotive customer quality, CIP and problem-solving oversight, and parametric test.

Most recently, Gary's focus is on being a champion for Smart Manufacturing to improve yields, reduce waste, and improve cycle times.
