A Community for High-tech Manufacturing and Engineering Companies
The Information Technology Leadership (ITL), is a community of CIOs and other IT leads serving at high-tech manufacturing and engineering companies. The group provides for a ”safe” environment for Information Technology executives to exchange ideas and information on pressing IT issues impacting their business.
With increasing reliance on automation and threats from cyber-crimes, this group provides access to key industry contacts and information to stay current on latest trends in IT - and more specifically the IT issues that matter to capital equipment and materials sectors.
SEMI's ITL community supports strategic and operational decision-making processes and coordinate financial, as well as organizational benchmarking exercises. Members include (as of Sept 2022):

ITL Member Value

SEMI's IT Leadership group offers differentiated value for member executives and subject matter expertise in:
Participants share operational, financial and organizational information at levels of detail deemed as “actionable” and that answer “C” level questions regarding peer companies.
All attendees participate in every event by describing in detail their latest IT project successes or failures. Information on vendors, consultants and support service providers is shared.
Discussions are targeted at the topics that our heads of IT are grappling with today with the intent that everyone leaves each event with a number of “nuggets” that they can take back to deploy or use to solve current issues.
- Semiautonomous communities
- Use case driven workshops
- Annual applications benchmark survey

Current ITL Programs

The ITL is designed to help meet challenges facing industry through:
By rotation, members host a 2-day forum twice yearly at their headquarters where participating CIOs meet to work through the issues that are confronting them today. Unlike other similarly named events, our CIO Forum focuses on topics in the Strategic space closest to Operations so the information shared is immediately applicable to solving real-time concerns.
These studies are the heart of each year’s forum discussions. Participants release detailed information regarding their operational budgets, processes and staffing, in-depth applications, landscape maps, and strategic plans. Data is shared in an NDA protected environment.
Subject matter experts within the IT domain, such as the InfoSec and Applications groups, meet for 4-8 hours face-to-face or via video conference to tackle specific issues brought forth by the CIOs and share invaluable use-cases on current innovations. Background benchmarks are conducted prior to each event providing attendees with insights into each other’s needs and expectations.
Each quarter, members are invited to join a number of educational web conferences, single topic surveys, and small networking sessions on subjects such as, applications upgrades, project planning, risk assessment and category spend.
