Okmetic has an extensive product selection offering a platform for even the most demanding applications, since the products are always customized to specific customer needs. Okmetic's wafer offering mainly comprises of 150–200 mm diameter Single Side Polished (SSP), Double Side Polished (DSP) wafers, Silicon on Insulator (SOI) wafers and high resistivity wafers. The company’s products are based on high-tech expertise generating added value for customers, innovative product development, and efficient production process.
Okmetic C-SOI®
Okmetic C-SOI® is a bonded SOI wafer with built-in sealed cavities on the handle wafer or on the buried oxide. The application areas include e.g. pressure sensors, silicon microphones and fluidic components, while thicker layers are suitable for inertial sensor manufacturing. Okmetic C-SOI® can also be used in IC and MEMS process integration. It also enables integrated backside packaging and hermetic sealing. As the patterning is etched before bonding, C-SOI® makes it possible to process complex and developed structures that standard BSOI wafers do not allow. The process enables extremely thin membranes, which widens the variety of design and processing possibilities. Okmetic’s new turnkey solution provides full C-SOI® process flow, from silicon crystal growth to cavity patterning and SOI wafer manufacturing, from one source. This enables smaller device size and cost, design freedom and streamlined processes.
High resistivity wafers
Okmetic has wide selection of 150-200mm wafers for RF applications and Integrated passive applications with high resistivities up to >7,000 Ohm-cm. The company’s high resistivity MCz provides production proven solutions for leading RF component manufacturers. MCz enables high resistivity by lower Oxygen concentration compared to standard Cz. It is available in large diameter and in <111> orientation ingot. The slip resistance, mechanical properties and FZ radiation hardness are better compared to FZ. Okmetic’s engineered high resistivity solutions to RF filter and Integrated passive applications minimize RF losses and harmonics. Surface related effects are eliminated by substrate design as transmission losses are reduced by 40% and 2nd harmonic generation by >20 dB.
