EDA tools are essential for the design of integrated circuits, which can contain billions of devices.

EDA tools are used to:

• Verify a design meets all requirements of the manufacturing process.
• Validate the semiconductor manufacturing process and ensure delivery of the required performance and density.

•  Pre-designed, re-usable blocks of logic that can be included in a semiconductor (chip) design.

The ESD Alliance quarterly Electronic Design Market Data (EDMD) report captures EDA, IP and Services revenue data and organizes it into a published report available for purchase in the SEMI Store, either as a single copy or annual subscription. Individual company revenue remains confidential, allowing public and private companies to report detailed, accurate revenue.

The EDMD report is prepared quarterly, including tables and charts with both current and historical revenue data organized by both product category and geographic region. The tables include the current year-to-date and three previous years data, allowing companies to assess trends in specific categories related to their business.
