For several years Intel has been focused not only on workplace diversity but on diversity in our supply chain. Our commitment includes a corporate goal to increase our annual diverse spending to $1 billion by 2020, including $200 million with women-owned businesses worldwide.

Consider the following
- 33% ROI on procurement operation costs for companies focused heavily on supplier diversity versus the typical business. (Source: Hackett Group)
- 55% of the U.S. population will be minorities by 2050, shifting purchasing power. (Source: S. Census Bureau)
- There were 340,000 new jobs created by women-owned businesses between 2007 and 2015 while male owned businesses cut 1.2 million jobs. (Source: 2015 study by Womenable and American Express)
- As published in the Wall Street Journal, some companies have realized ~2x return on supplier diversity investments in revenue from bids that required inclusion and reporting.
We realize that diverse-owned suppliers may work directly with Intel as tier 1 suppliers or with one of our prime suppliers in a tier 2 capacity. In this way, all our suppliers, even public non-diverse companies, can create opportunities and contribute to inclusive business.
We have integrated requirements for including diverse suppliers into our supplier bidding, selection, and management processes, and into our Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement (SCQI) award. We apply these expectations and requirements to tier 1 suppliers, and we also expect our non-diverse suppliers to report their own spending with diverse-owned suppliers and subcontractors.

Attend Ideation Day 2020
