The SEMI Smart Manufacturing Global Executive Committee (GEC) comprises a select number of SEMI member companies and industry partners from the global electronics design and manufacturing ecosystem that will act as the steering committee for the initiative. The GEC will help identify industry challenges and prioritize and execute solutions that benefit SEMI members and the entire industry. Current focus areas identified by the GEC are Factory of the Future, Sustainability, and Future Talent.
As stated, the Global Executive Committee shall act as the steering committee for the Group. In addition, to continuously improve the efficiency, effectiveness and member value delivery of the group, the Global Executive Committee should give direction on:
- SEMI Smart Manufacturing vision, outlining critical opportunities & challenges for the Future of manufacturing
- Recognition of manufacturing focus areas, where a regional chapter (or 2) will be encouraged to take the lead on a given topic/project – and coordinate participation/communication with other regional chapters
- Identification of commonalities - reduce overlap (program development, speaker recruitment, etc.)
- Healthy cross-communication between regional chapters
- Priority activities to close gaps: guidelines & documents, programs, standards, etc.
- Active support of each other’s regional events with speakers and attendees
Charter & Structure:
The Smart Manufacturing group membership authorizes the formation of the Global Executive Committee (GEC), consisting of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson and chairs of each of the established regional chapters, whose term of office shall be for two years.
Subsequent Executive Committee members (officers) shall be appointed by the Executive Committee and may be reappointed to additional terms by the Committee. The Executive Committee shall act as the steering committee for the Group.
The Smart Manufacturing GEC is a Global Committee. Regional or segment-specific sub-teams, under the guidance of the GEC, will drive specific workstreams contributing to overarching initiative goals and objectives.
